It is widely known that the number of users on Twitter has been decreasing steadily, while Bluesky has been attracting an average of 1 million new users daily. I have also joined this trend. Over the past few months, my feed has been inundated with propaganda, misinformation, and irrelevant or deceitful ads. It has become a breeding ground for harmful content, increasingly resembling a cesspool. Furthermore, it has become impossible to block the increasingly erratic tweets from Elon Musk, now that he is the owner of the platform.
I switched over to Bluesky because it evokes the early days of Twitter. Back then, I used Twitter to keep up with companies, individuals, and news outlets, creating a streamlined feed that was simple and free of distractions.
I am excited to see what the future holds for Bluesky and I have high hopes that the platform will continue to operate with honesty and trustworthiness.
